Lens Love: Canon 50mm 1.2

I looked like a hot mess when I answered the door, but I didn't care.  I refused to either get in the shower or go to the basement to work out, in fear of missing the UPS man.  And when he finally arrived?  (At 5 pm mind you!)  Well, I was more excited than on Christmas morning.

My new Canon 50mm 1.2 had found its way to its new home, and I couldn't wait to test it out!  So far, it has not disappointed.  I've been using the 1.4 version until now, and while it has been a great lens, I always felt it was, well....lacking.  Not to mention I had also dropped it.  Twice.  (But that's a whole other blog post.)

Right now I just wanted to share a couple test images from the 1.2, shot wide open.  I'm loving the color and buttery goodness from this lens!!

    I can't wait to be able to afford this lens! I'm using the 1.4 as we speak, and I do love it so I can't even imagine what I'll do when I get my hands on the 1.2. I'm even afraid to rent it in fear I won't return it! LOL! ;)

    Tammie - I used to rent this sometimes, and after that I never looked at my 1.4 the same. Just sayin'.... ;) Hope you get yours soon!

    Great post! I'm thinking to order this lens later this week. I also have been using the 1.4 for years, but am thinking this will do a much better job as my main prime. It's always good to hear someone else's success story of upgrading :)
